Nashville's Sweetest Spots in Quarantine

I’ve had so many people reach out to see if I’m still selling baked goods. The (very) short answer is no. And thankfully, there are so many amazing spots still selling incredible baked goods online! From decorated cookies to my favorite muffin ever, and the sweetest pie shop, I’ve collected a list of my top favorites, what they’re offering and how to get your hands on them.

Something you should know about Nashville’s food community: it’s inclusive and full of hard-working and creative people. This list is an homage to some of the great people who make it so, and is in no way a paid advertisement. Another important thing to note about this list is that it takes into consideration the safety practices and processes used during this time. This means they are wearing masks and gloves, offering no-contact pickup and delivery options, and keeping their doors closed for the time being.

I implore you to support our local industry if you’re able, and I hope this list helps add to your celebrations, whether it be a graduation or you made it through another Monday in quarantine!

Baked on 8th

This one tops the list because the most requested item is custom cookies or cakes. They are making it happen! You can also find a list of daily cake slices, cookies, galaxy brownies and more. All scrumptious and each one better than the next. Currently, they are offering contactless pickup only. Call or go online to place your order before 5pm for same-day pickup. Custom, bulk or scheduled orders are phone-in only.

Caitypies

The sweetest, kindest owner. The most dedicated team. You’ll instantly fall in love with Cait and her brand of classic style meets modern flavors meets meat. Yes, she has savory pies too! And if that isn’t enough for you, she and her team are also baking “quarantreat” boxes full of delicious cookies, Rice Krispies treats and other fun baked goodies. Menu comes out Monday, online ordering starts on Wednesday, and delivery happens on Fridays. If you miss out on the online orders (they go fast!) you can pick up a select few items at Citizen Market on Fridays.

Dozen

If you’re looking for the classics, look no further. You know and love Dozen already as a neighborhood breakfast and lunch hot spot. And if you’re unfamiliar, chances are good you’ve had a scone or muffin at a local coffee shop from this amazing bakery. Dozen offers flaky croissants and kouign amann, cookies, muffins, bars, and more. And by more, I mean incredible breads. Items are available for curbside pickup and if you really need to stock up, delivery ($35 minimum, $5 delivery fee).

Littlest Love Favorite: Dozen’s blueberry muffin will change your life. This is not a hyperbolic statement.

Brightside Bakeshop

Brightside Bakeshop is the sweetest, most devine pastry shop in town. They offer sweet and savory croissants, kouign amann, danishes. And not just any, but some truly unique flavor combinations: everything bagel, local strawberries cheesecake danish, and oatmeal cream pie croissant. If you’re looking for breakfast pastries or an afternoon snack, this is your hotspot. They’re offering pickup at both locations — East Nashville and The Nations.

Littlest Love Favorite: I don’t know if it’s always on the menu, but the oatmeal cream pie croissant is the perfect nostalgic treat.

Cupcake Collection

This spot isn’t just the icing on the cake, it’s the whole damn thing. Cupcake Collection is a family run business and a Nashville staple, and you won’t be sorry about snagging yourself a cupcake to celebrate another work week in quarantine, or a fancy celebration cake for a quiet celebration at home. They also have daily gluten-free and vegan options, so everyone can enjoy!

Littlest Love Favorite: The strawberry cupcake is like biting into a milkshake, but butter, I mean better. Same thing.

City House

I know this isn’t a bakery, but they have the best damn desserts in town. And to be honest, they have the best damn everything in town. If you’re smart — and if you’re reading this, how could you not be? — you’ll order a pizza, a salad and any or all of the desserts offered right now for curbside pickup.

Littlest Love favorite: Actual pro-tip is a slice of cake for after dinner and a cookie plate for breakfast with your coffee.
